Sometimes the more low-tech, low cost methods are the best value and may be the most sustainable. Remediation Shop provides only the remediation supplies and equipment. Although Remediation Shop does not provide bench testing, consulting or injection services, we have been in the environmental remediation business for over two decades, and can provide assistance for successful projects using other vendors.

DEGRADATION PATHWAYS

Various biotic and abiotic transformations occur on a variety of compounds as they are degraded. Sometimes considered recalcitrant or more difficult to treat than gasoline, compounds such as PCE, TCE, DCE, DCA, dioxane, NDMA, and perchlorate can be treated in-situ. Technical expertise is needed to evaluate the best remedial approach for each suite of compounds that are found on a site. In some cases, more than one contaminant is present, creating interesting geochemical dynamics. As changes in REDOX and pH occur during the in-situ remediation process, heavy metals that may have been sorbed onto soil particles can sometimes be released into groundwater. Remediation Shop Technical Support can discuss some of these important geochemical issues on a site-by-site basis.

ENHANCED BIOREMEDIATION

Aerobic Bioremediation: For petroleum hydrocarbons such as gasoline, diesel, BTEX compounds and MTBE and vinyl chloride, in-situ enhanced aerobic bioremediation has been a successful strategy using oxygen infusion and oxygen concentration and delivery equipment. Remediation Shop also offers specialized microbes and referrals for bench studies, if needed.

Anaerobic Bioremediation: Remediation Shop offers a variety of anaerobic oils and hydrogen infusion to clean up chlorinated solvent sites (PCE, TCE, etc.) as small as a quarter acre to dozens of acres.

Co-Metabolic Bioremediation: Infusion of an alkane gas, such as propane, and oxygen allows for a co-metabolic approach for in-situ remediation. This works well for TCE, vinyl chloride and a host of other chlorinated solvents, depending on the degradation pathway desired.

CHEMICAL OXIDATION

For a more aggressive in-situ approach, Remediation Shop offers various ozone treatment units for subsurface remediation, with Remediation Shop units from 1.3, 4.9 and 8.7 lbs per day for chlorinated solvents and petroleum hydrocarbons.

Various chemical oxidation products by Tersus are low-cost, high value slow release chemical oxidizers.
